World championship 1978 series features

The World championship 1978 series, produced in June 1978, consists of 16 packs, of dimension 36 x 24 x 5.5 cm, with catalog numbers 017 and 020; the first containing the Italian national team and the second from time to time one of the other 15 teams participating in the Argentina '78 World championship.

It should be noted that packaging 017, containing the Italian national team, was marketed in two graphic versions; the first with the italian shield and the other with a tricolor circle.

The 017 packaging is the same already marketed in the World championship 1974 series while for the 020 packaging is reused the same of the World championship 1974 series with the same catalog number, suitably modified by removing the flags on the back and on the right edge, and on each of the 15 packs a balloon-shaped sticker is attached with the name of a team contained inside.

Each packaging contains a playing rectangle (half of a football field), 14 figures (11 players, 1 coach, 1 masseur and 1 linesman), a goal, two corner flags, a bench, a scoring ruler and 2 soccer balls. which one hemispherical, one sliding (to join 2 game rectangles) and a sheet with assembly instructions and game rules;the playing rectangle always has blue borders while the figures differ in color according to the team contained.

In the first version of the 017 package we find both on the front of the packaging and on the left edge a tricolor shield while in the second version a tricolor circle between the front and the left edge of the packaging.

For both versions of the 017 package, the Atlantic logo and the words "Nazionale Italiana" are shown on the front of the packaging; on the upper and lower edges there is the wording "National Italian", on the right edge the catalog number while on the back the wording "Italia" the Atlantic logo and images of the content.

The wording Mondiali is shown on the front of the 020 package as well as on the upper and lower edges while on the right edge there is the catalog number; on the front a balloon-shaped sticker is attached with the name of a team contained inside.
