11000 series first edition

The 11000 series was produced, from November 1971 to 1973, in a first graphic format, called "first edition", including the catalog numbers from 11001 to 11012.

On the front of the packs there is the Atlantic logo, the name of the subject and the number of pieces contained.

The Atlantic logo, the name of the subject, the number of pieces contained and the catalog number are shown on the side edges of the first 10 packs.

The Atlantic logo and the name of the subject contained are shown on the upper and lower edges.

The back of the first 10 packs has a colored portion, an illustration of the contents, assembly instructions, a more or less complete list of catalog numbers of the same series.

In the first six packs, in the very first commercializations, the colored portion on the back presents the illustration of the contents in a particular way that leaves the central part empty (as if it was initially thought to place a window as in the 10000 series); these packs will be identified as "first edition variant 1" while the others as "first edition variant 2".

Also note the particularity of the 11006 "Sommozzatori d'Italia" packaging, which shows the catalog number 10006 printed on the side edges and the list of catalog numbers of the 10000 series instead of 11000 on the back.

It should be noted that on the back of some packs 10011 and 11012 of the first edition, for packs 11014, 15 and 16, there is a content different from what is actually marketed (back type 1), while in others the actual marketed content is shown (back type 2).
